The Corporation for Business and Cultural Development of the Islet of San Juan (CODEVISA) is a special municipal development entity established under the "Autonomous Municipalities Act of Puerto Rico." CODEVISA is a nonprofit corporation with a legal personality independent from the Municipality of San Juan, although it has closely collaborated with the municipality since its founding in 1986. Our services align with the socioeconomic development goals of the Municipality, with a specific focus on the Islet of San Juan. Currently, CODEVISA is the only special entity operating within the Municipality of San Juan.

CODEVISA was established by a group of private sector individuals with the support of the Municipality and began operations on September 1, 1986, registering with the Puerto Rico Department of State in December of the same year. The organization is governed by a Board of Directors made up of twelve members who represent various sectors, including commercial, residential, government, and the public interest.

At CODEVISA, we put all our energy into supporting you. How? In many ways. From helping you with your application for an Outdoor Café/Kiosk, guiding you on the documents you need to submit the application, transporting you to where you need to go with our fleet of vehicles, and very soon, offering support for your business operations through training. As you can see, we can assist you in many ways with the sole purpose of helping you achieve your goals. Why? The answer is simple: because that was the vision of the group of pioneers who founded our organization.

To carry out our operations, CODEVISA has an organizational structure divided into various areas: administration, events, business support, and transportation. Each of these areas is supported by professionals specializing in administrative consulting, organizational development, and financial matters.

Many years have passed since that December of 1985 when our organization was formalized, but our commitment to the Islet of San Juan remains as strong as on day one. This commitment is unwavering, and without our employees, it would have been impossible to support each and every merchant of the Islet. To each of them, THANK YOU!
